WHAT TO EXPECT
The LASIK procedure usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes, no longer than 15. The surgeon will place anesthetic drops in your eyes, and then use an advanced laser to create a thin, hinged flap in your cornea. This flap is folded back, and a second laser is introduced to perform an ablation in the deeper layers of the cornea. The surgeon uses a computer to monitor and track your eye, and to direct and operate the laser. Our advanced technology make the procedure extremely safe. The lasers track your eye’s movement, and if significant movement occurs, will shut off.
After the cornea is reshaped, the surgeon puts the flap back in place. There is no need for sutures of any kind. Your vision is now improved!
You will most likely notice a dramatic improvement in your vision immediately after LASIK. Although rest is recommended for the first 24 hours, most people are ready to return to work the following day.
Better quality of life! A gross majority of patients receive their desired improvement in vision. Many clinics offer enhancements to further improve results and satisfaction, often at an extra cost. We're proud to offer this benefit as an all-inclusive part of your procedure. LASIK is a relatively painless procedure and no bandages or stitches are required. Vision improvement is swift, usually immediate or within the first day of the procedure.
Side effects with this procedure, aside from mild discomfort, are rare. However, they can include:
- Seeing halos around images
- Dry eyes
- Your eyes must be healthy. This means no glaucoma, infection cataracts, or any other condition that would interfere in the healing process.
- You must be an adult.
- You must not have a degenerative or autoimmune disease, which would interfere with healing.
