Dr. Sara Tavassoli earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she was recognized with the William Baldwin Scholastic Achievement Award
and inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for her academic and professional excellence.
Prior to pursuing optometry, Dr. Tavassoli earned her MD from the Tehran School of Medical Sciences. Her unique blend in medical and optometric training shapes her deep commitment to delivering comprehensive, medically-focused eye care to her patients.
Before joining Acuity Eye Group, Dr. Tavassoli served as a senior optometrist at Maryland Eye Institute (MEI). She specializes in contact lenses for patients of all ages and is skilled in managing a wide range of eye conditions, including myopia, astigmatism, amblyopia, dry eye syndrome, and diabetes-related ocular issues. She also monitors and manages patients at risk for glaucoma.
