Meet Dr. Jeffrey

Jeffrey J. Jeong, O.D. is a medical optometrist providing comprehensive routine and medical eye care, with a clinical focus on the pre- and post-operative co-management of cataract and refractive surgeries. 

Dr. Jeong earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also completed a Master of Science in Medical Physiology. His graduate research focused on HAART AIDS/HIV therapeutics. Following his master’s program, he worked as a junior research coordinator at University Hospitals Eye Institute, where he developed a strong interest in ophthalmology and contributed to the NIH-funded Cornea Preservation Time Study. 

He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. His clinical training included rotations at the VA Medical Center of Chicago, where he managed ocular disease in veterans; the Cornea Center for Clinical Excellence, where he fitted specialty contact lenses for keratoconus patients; the Rosenbloom Center on Aging, providing post-operative care for geriatric patients; and the Chicago Public Schools, delivering care to underserved communities. Dr. Jeong was awarded multiple Clinical Letters of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding patient care. 

Prior to joining Acuity Eye Group, Dr. Jeong spent five years practicing as a medical optometrist at a large multi-disciplinary ophthalmology clinic in Houston, Texas.
