Since 1994, Ralph Bernard Hester, III, M.D. has been a cornerstone of the Oklahoma ophthalmic community, balancing a full-time medical and surgical practice with a deep commitment to clinical mentorship. As a Board Certified ophthalmologist and a long-standing faculty member at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, Dr. Hester has dedicated decades to training the next generation of eye surgeons and medical students from the University of Oklahoma. His expertise is recognized on a national level through his ongoing service as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology, a role that ensures the highest standards of surgical excellence and patient safety are upheld across the profession.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Hester is driven by a mission to serve the "whole" person and the broader community. This is reflected in his volunteer work at the Crossings Community Center, where he provides essential eye care to those in need. On a more personal note, he brings a unique perspective to patient safety and confidence, having served as a self-defense instructor for children.
