Dr. Hannah Muniz Castro is a fellowship trained Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive surgeon and board certified ophthalmologist. She specializes in corneal surgery, complex cataract surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens implantation, and treatment of external disease. She was born in the Philippines and raised in Southern California where she graduated magna cum laude from UCLA. After attending medical school at University of California, Irvine, she completed an internal medicine internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She moved to Houston where she completed ophthalmology residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and served as chief resident. She then completed a one-year Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which has been ranked #1 in ophthalmology by US News & World Report for over a decade.
